Delhi High Court’s landmark 2009 judgement, decriminalizing homosexuality in India served as a ray of hope for India’s LGBTQ communities. That hope was, however, extinguished in 2013, when the Supreme Court overturned Delhi HC’s judgment. People took to the streets in large numbers to express their displeasure. December 15, 2013 was observed as a Global Day of Rage against the verdict.

People in Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata joined in with those in New York, Boston, London, Sydney and Toronto to raise their voice for equal rights. From this struggle for basic human rights, emerged a group of people who have dedicated their efforts to realizing this goal.
