Howard County first LGBTQ program in June
Howard County’s First LGBTQ Pride Celebration Set
June was chosen as LGBTQ Pride Month across the nation as a way celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community on the anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, a series of riots widely recognized as the defining act of the LGBTQ liberation social movement.

- When: June 29, 2019 | 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Where: Centennial Park (10000 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042)
The festival is co-hosted by Howard County government, which footed the bill of renting a space at Centennial Park, which usually costs $1,000, according to Jamel Howard, the festival’s planning committee chairman.
Organizers anticipate the budget will be between $10,000 and $15,000 with contributions from Hope Works, PFLAG Columbia Howard County and Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Laurel.
Media Opportunities: One-on-one interviews with HoCo Pride Planning Committee members, Howard County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball and other county-level government officials, members of the Howard County State House & Senate delegation, and community organization leaders.
